ALDD - Arts and Crafts

ALDD - Arts and Crafts

Level X

Course Overview

Part Time
Certificate

This practical class encourages learners to work towards creative projects using a variety of craft materials such as paints and fabrics. You will work at your own pace and follow your own personal interests within the session. Some of planned activities will include stamping, painting, collage and printing.

These informal learning opportunities will be delivered in a relaxed and friendly environment by tutors empathetic to ALDD needs. You will work with a range of artistic media to explore colour, texture and design. You might work with pencils, paints, papier-mâché, clay or other materials to design and make your own works of art. Good hand-eye co-ordination will enable learners to participate more easily in the activities.

Your tutor will regularly review your activities and offer you support and guidance. You will be encouraged to identify small, realistic and achievable goals to work towards throughout the course and will keep a learning log to monitor your progress and achievement within the group.

  • This course is aimed at adults (age 19 or at the start of the academic year) with mild physical or learning disabilities. Care support is not available through the college but learners may be supported by their own carers, who will be expected to participate in the activities.

  • Your tutor will be able to advise you of any follow on or suitable alternatively funded courses.
