The course will follow a set programme of recreational and vocational activities to encourage, promote and develop your personal skills, confidence and physical abilities.
These informal learning opportunities will be delivered in a relaxed and friendly environment by tutors empathetic to ALDD needs.
This class is based on progressive fitness exercises and will help to improve your coordination, flexibility, balance, agility, strength and also tone your body. Exercises will be choreographed to music in 2 minute intervals with a break in between to explain each exercise. The classes are non-contact.
Please note exercises can be tailored to suit most abilities but you would need to be able to get up and down from the floor with relative ease.
Your tutor will regularly review your activities and offer you support and guidance. You will be encouraged to identify small, realistic and achievable goals to work towards throughout the course and will keep a learning log to monitor your progress and achievement within the group.
Lessons will involve recap to consolidate learning. Learners are expected to attend regularly ie at least 80% of the course.
You will need to wear comfortable casual clothing (no jeans) which will allow freedom of movement, tracksuits would be most suitable. Sensible flat shoes should be worn and it would be wise to bring along some water to keep you hydrated.
Please make sure you arrive on time for the start of the class. It can be very disrupting for the class when people arrive late.
