Ideal if: your goal is to work in the travel and tourism industry as airline cabin crew.
You’ll learn: working as a cabin crew; how to handle passengers and make passenger announcements; health, safety and security; cabin service and selling techniques; and dealing with emergency situations.
Expect: a mix of theory combined with practical experience to develop your customer service and selling skills.

This qualification is designed for anyone who'd like to work as cabin crew, including the duties carried out by cabin crew in the crew room.

There are six units that will help you to develop your skills when working with customer on board: 1. Working As Cabin Crew 2. Airline Health, Safety and Security 3. Airline Emergency Situations 4. Dealing With Passengers on Board an Aircraft 5. Cabin Service - Selling Techniques 6. Making Passenger Announcements on Board an Aircraft The course is a combination of continual assessment and includes the development of practical workplace skills. You will be assessed through coursework and practical assignments. What's more the college has invested money into creating the right environment for you. So you will benefit from the latest learning technology and a unique aircraft simulation room where you can put your customer service skills into practice.
You will also be learning from tutors who have been cabin crew, and as part of the course you will have the opportunity to visit airlines to develop your skills.
As part of your programme of study you will also be timetabled for English and Maths.
You will need to complete relevant work placement as part of your course. You will have support whilst at College to arrange this but it is advised to start thinking about it prior to enrolment.
Gloucestershire College welcome any other/combinations of relevant qualifications that are comparable and/or equivalent to the typical course entry requirements.
For 19+ applicants that do not have recognised qualifications may still meet course entry requirements through alternative methods of assessment at the College’s discretion.

With a level 2 qualification in Airline Cabin Crew, you can apply for a range of junior roles on airlines or take your skills into general employment. If you want to get more qualifications under your belt, then you could progress onto one of our full time level 3 Travel and Tourism programmes.
