This course is suitable for those who have an interest in digital art or developing their design skills, focusing on using Adobe Illustrator and grasping the basics.
During the course, you will learn about the important tools and different parts of software in Adobe Illustrator and how to use them. The skills you learn can then be further developed in your own time using workshops given in class.
You will learn new techniques as well as tips and shortcuts so you can get the most from the software. You will also have a chance to discuss in class any specific elements you would like to learn and an opportunity to re-cap on topics covered.
The classes will be in a relaxed and friendly studio environment where you will be able to work individually as well as with other learners. Each session is there for you to learn new skills and techniques if you have never used Adobe Illustrator before or to give yourself a recap if you haven’t used it in a long time.
Your tutor will review your work in class as well as on Teams where all the work will be posted in case you can’t attend a session or would like feedback on your work.
You will be working in an Apple Mac Studio so no laptops are required, and you will also have access to the software in college. Please note, if you would like to use the software outside of the college you will need an Adobe subscription, however this will be discussed in the first session.
If you would like to make notes, please bring your own notebooks and stationery.
Our recreational courses are aimed at those aged 19 (as at 31st August 2022) or above.
No previous knowledge or experience is required to attend this course but there is an expectation you would be computer literate.
Your tutor will be able to advise of any further training opportunities.
