Childcare is an extremely rewarding yet responsible occupation which suits those that communicate and interact well with children. Good childcare is vital to help individuals grow, develop and succeed in life.
An apprenticeship in the Children’s Care sector is the perfect opportunity to combine learning with the practical experience of working with children, usually within a nursery or day centre.
Both intermediate and advanced apprenticeships include a paediatric first aid module.
If you are undecided or unsure about starting an apprenticeship or are not sure of the skill type or level that’s right for you, apply here. We will arrange to meet you for a guidance and interview session, we’ll explain the different routes open to you and the types of local work and careers this training can lead to.
Application process
Please click on the 'shortlist and apply' button to start your application. You will be contacted by a member of the Apprenticeship team who will explain the next step.
In order to start an apprenticeship programme, you must be employed. However, don’t let that put you off. We can help you find an apprentice position, or guide you to other learning to support your ambitions while you search for the right apprenticeship opportunity. All applicants are assessed at interview to ensure correct levels of study. Prior qualifications or experience in a relevant job will be taken into consideration.
The apprenticeship will provide you with a solid foundation on which to build your career. The advanced apprenticeship will prepare you for future supervisory/management posts, or support entry to a Diploma or a Degree in nursing or midwifery.
If you would like to apply for this course, please add it to your shortlist. You may then add further courses to your shortlist or continue to complete your application.
